PTA Committees 2006-2007
Working Committees (limited/no fund raising activities)
- Membership – encourages participation in the PTA and runs the membership drive during the first month of school. (Janine Emerzian, 438-1510)
- Directory – Compile information and sell school wide directory. (Jennifer Diaz, 439-9471)
- Hospitality / Teacher Appreciation – organizes welcoming activities for school guests and visitors. Provides lunches and special treats for teachers during the year.
- Garden Club – Maintains the grounds around the front entrance to the school.
- Red Ribbon Week – Coordinate the kick off and daily “events” to educate and promote a drug free school. Occurs in October. (Priscilla Karl, 439-4221)
- Reflections – Coordinate and promote participation on a given theme through categories of literature, music, photography, and arts. (Julie Hanson, 261-1977)
- Yearbook – Work with teachers to create and produce the annual school yearbook.
- Gift Tree – Coordinates the collection and delivery of gifts and/or clothing at holiday time from our students to other students and families at a less fortunate school. (Blanca Sauerbrei, 435-8546)
Working Committee (Specific Event or fundraising activites)
- Movie Nights – sets up 3-5 nights of movies, pizza and candy for the students. (Debi Stanley, 436-0353)
- Spring Gala – plan and coordinate adult only evening with live auction.
- Cookie Dough - promotes and coordinates the annual cookie dough sales through distribution of brochures, product and prizes. (Anne Montelongo, 431-5011)
- Carnival – Annual school carnival with lots of activities including games and booths, food and drink sales, entertainment, decorations, silent auction, sponsorships, etc. (Carolyn Larsen, 261-2308)
- Book Fair – Works with Scholastic and the school librarian to organize and promote the annual book fair. Staff the fair and hosts promotional events. (Priscilla Karl, 439-4221 & Erin Ford, 447-1137)
- Gift Wrap – promotes and coordinates the annual gift wrap sales through distribution of brochures, product and prizes. (Mary Nichols, 432-5247)
Redemption Committees (Buyer programs, etc.)

Cell Phone Redemption – Through the use of collection sites, turn in old cell phones to a redemption company for profit. (Anne Montelongo, 431-5011)
- Printer Cartridge Redemption – Through the use of collection sites, turn in old printer cartridges to a redemption company for profit. (Anne Montelongo, 431-5011)
- SaveMart Buyer Program – Distribute information and promote the use of Savemart Supermarket vouchers with a percentage return to the school. (Anne Montelongo, 431-5011).
- Box Tops – Promotes the collection of box tops from General Mills’s products. (Michelle Schultz, 867-3900)
- Target Stores Buyer Program – Unknown work of promoting the use of Target Stores to gain a percentage of sales for the school (Anne Montelongo, 431-5011)
- Albertsons Buyer Program – promoting the use of Albertsons with a percentage of sales donated to the PTA (Anne Montelongo, 431-5011).
- Catalano's Script Program - Purchase gift cards to Catalano's Market and a percentage of sales is donated to the PTA (Anne Montelongo, 431-5011)
